London Cable Car | Stunning Views from the Royal Docks to The O2

The London Cable Car, officially known as the IFS Cloud Cable Car, was inaugurated in 012. This gondola lift service provides a unique aerial link across the River Thames in East London, connecting the Royal Docks (North Terminal) near Canning Town, with the Greenwich Peninsula (South Terminal), where The O2 arena is located.

The cable car was built to offer a new transport option in anticipation of the 2012 London Olympics, which featured events at venues in both proximity areas, including the ExCeL London and The O2 arena. The project was designed not only to facilitate easier and more scenic travel between these significant locations but also to boost economic development and tourism in the area.

The journey across the cable car spans approximately 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) and offers stunning views of the London skyline, including landmarks such as Canary Wharf, St Paul's Cathedral, and the Thames Barrier. The duration of the trip is roughly 10 minutes each way.
