November 27th, 2010. "The Cobra" Carl Froch took on "King" Arthur Abraham in the second bout of the Group Stage 3 of the Super Six World Boxing Classic with the vacant WBC Super Middleweight Championship on the line.

In the first bout of Group Stage 3, Glen Johnson aka “The Road Warrior” scored a KO8 win over Allan Green 21 days earlier thus the winner will advance into the semi final to face Johnson.

Prefight records; Froch 26(20)-1, Abraham 31(25)-1.

Going into the fight, Froch who was the former WBC Super Middleweight Champion had notable wins over the likes of Robin Reid, Andre Dirrell, Jean Pascal & Jermain Taylor while Abraham who was the former IBF Middleweight Champion had defeated top oppositions such as Raul Marquez, Jermain Taylor & Edison Miranda (2x).

It was an utter shut out by Cobra Carl who utilized hand speed, evasive mobility and high punch output to frustrate and stung the rugged Armenian with venomous shots for nearly 36 full minutes in one his career best performances.

Froch who barely lost a round became the WBC Super Middleweight Champion for the second time via a lopsided UD12 with scores of 119-109 & 120-108 (2x).

This was Abraham’s second consecutive loss. The first setback of his career took place in March 2010 where he was disqualified for landing a right hand (that resulted in an illegal knockout) on Andre Dirrell who slipped to the canvas.

After the victory, Froch went on to beat Glen Johnson in June 2011 via MD12 to successfully defend his WBC Super Middleweight Title for the first time and advanced into the final stage to take on undefeated 27 year old Andre Ward who was the reigning WBA & The Ring Super Middleweight Champion.

Ward would dominate Froch to become the Unified Super Middleweight Champion via UD12 in December 2011 where he held the WBA, WBC & The Ring Super Middleweight Titles. Ward triumphed over Mikkel Kessler, Allan Green, Arthur Abraham & Carl Froch to become the winner of the tournament.
