In this GPD XD Plus (GPD XD+) video, I will test the Gamecube Emulator, Dolphin on the GPD XD Plus. The game tested in this case is Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. In my opinion,This emulator is the best emulator ever created, and it works for gamecube and Wii games. But is it the best gamecube emulator to use on the GPD XD Plus?

In short, No. This emulator while work, does not run well on the XD Plus. Slowdown is happens frequently and Vulkan is not supported on the chip on the GPD XD Plus.

The emulator used is Dolphin nightly build downloaded from Dolphin emulator website. Many performance increasing tricks is used on the emulator in order to increase performance, however these is still not enough for a game like MGS The Twin Snakes. Maybe lighter games will work, but the point is to test games that is more powerful.


The controller on the GPD XD Plus mapped perfectly using dolphin emu. But without smooth framerate and slow down, I cannot recommend this emulator on the GPD XD Plus. GPD Win 1 will be a better choice and GPD Win 2 will run perfect, I will test it later on GPD Win 2.
