Working with an Intellectual Disability

Southland Disability Enterprises in Invercargill employs over 80 people who live with a disability. For Mary-Ellen Joyce & Neville Clode, who were both born with Down Syndrome, it’s much more than just a workplace - it’s an extended family. In this episode, Mary-Ellen, Neville, boss Hamish, and their families introduce us to the workshop that has been the heart of their routine and social life for over twenty years, talking frankly about the challenges of independence and caregiving.
