Has Specialized Killed The Stumpjumper EVO?

We have been riding the 15th version of the Specialized Stumpjumper. A bike that killed off the popular EVO but why have Specialized done this?

A new, highly tuneable shock, totally overhauled frame, and masses of adjustment promise to make the new bike more versatile and capable than ever.
