Jet Star 2 at Lagoon (50th Anniversary Tribute)

Today, May 4th, 2024, Lagoon celebrates the 50th anniversary of Jet Star 2. Designed by Werner Stengel and built by Anton Schwarzkopf, Jet Star 2 was originally built at Expo '74 (Riverfront Park) and opened with the fair on May 4th, 1974. This ride is a Jet Star/2 model. Jet Star 2 operated until the fair closed on November 3rd, 1974. The ride was sold to Lagoon and reopened on April 3rd, 1976. Jet Star 2 is one of only two surviving spiral lift coasters in the United States built by Anton Schwarzkopf and the only remaining Jet Star 2 model in North America.
