Me playing the organ at Mortlake Crematorium in the London Borough of Richmond.

The organ was built by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd in 1939 and in typical Compton manner is built using the 'extension' technique with 4 ranks of pipes contained in a chamber at the front of the chapel to the right of the catafalque. The console is located on a gallery at the rear of the chapel. The organ was restored in 2007 by Bishop and Son of Ipswich. The specification reads:

PEDAL
Bourdon 16'
Flute 8'
Flute 4'
Great to Pedal
Swell to Pedal

GREAT
Open Diapason 8'
Stopped Diapason 8'
Principal 4'
Stopped Flute 4'
Nazard 2.2/3'
Fifteenth 2'
Tierce 1.3/5'
Swell to Great

SWELL
Rohr Gedeckt 8'
Salicional 8'
Flute 4'
Salicet 4'
Piccolo 2'
Tremulant (affects all divisions)

I am playing the hymn "Abide with me" to the tune 'Eventide'.

Many thanks to the crematorium staff for allowing me access to this fine little instrument.
