Easy words, or "markers" are not just sounds or signals, they're promises kept - a precise language that bridges the gap between human and canine, fostering trust, clarity, and a beautiful bond built on understanding.

First, let's define "marker word".

A marker word leads to primary reinforcement, which can be food or access to something the dog considers valuable.

-Obedience cue: An obedience cue (like sit or down) leads to a marker word that leads to primary reinforcement.

You wouldn't ever say sit and just wing the treat at the dog. You would include a marker word to let the dog know that he can break position and catch the treat.

Like anything, there are some exceptions to this. Sometimes, there are reasons to give food without a release word (duration stays, for example)

Words I use:
-Yes (food to face) you did something correctly
-Good (I like what you are doing; I might pay. I might not but keep going)
-Get it (food on the ground usually I've dropped)
-Scatter (large amount of food to forge for)

Using easy marker words with your dog establishes clear and fair communication, helping to strengthen your bod and relationship.
