In 1990, Sierra On-Line released the sequel to Hero's Quest: So You Want to Be a Hero.

The Hero's Quest name was dropped due to trademark issues and instead the game was released as Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire.

The Hero of Spielburg travels to the desert city of Shapeir which is soon threatened by four magical elementals that begin to attack the city.

The Hero also travels to the city of Raseir where the Emir has vanished and the Katta have been expelled.
