California Superbike School: Barber Motorsports Park - 3rd Session, 5/26/2024

Laptimes (?): The bikes did not have a way to mount my AIM Solo2. At past schools they let me lock it under the passenger seat to record the GPS data. It allowed me to look at the data after the day was over and also burn the trackmap and speeds into my video. Very helpful for getting facts about entry speeds into corners, speeds at the end of straights, etc. Facts inform strategies about your riding. Laptimes must be contemplated with a view to the context in which they are generated.

Watch this video and consider the concept of traffic and being courteous. What's more valuable, the laptime or your coaches feedback on your execution (or lack of)?

So what I am left with is watching the video, getting out a stopwatch and showing laptimes. And I'll illustrate how unhelpful that is, as an academic exercise. I'll try and get around to doing that for both days, using the videos I successfully got. Boring to watch, start to finish, but maybe the links here illustrate my point.
