Alexandra Blakely "Stand Today"

Описание к видео Alexandra Blakely "Stand Today"

This video is shot on Puyallup land.

The structure that appears in the background of the video is a Liquified “Natural” Gas facility owned by Puget Sound Energy. It has been built on the Puyallup estuary in violation of the Puyallup Tribe’s land claim settlement and treaty rights.

Gas is explosive. In 2017, there were massive gas pipeline explosions in West Virginia, Missouri and Texas.

If there were an explosion at the Tacoma facility tribal homelands, Tacoma residents, schools, day-care centers and the Northwest Immigration Detention Center, where over 1,500 people are being detained, would be devastated.

This is only one story.

There are thousands of similar stories all across Turtle Island and worldwide.

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
