how to design a trashy literary fiction cover cause they all look like this

Another trashy cover tutorial! The Vanishing Half and Detransition Baby both look alike with their bright abstract blob colour design going on. But why? Why do these fiction covers look the same?
Although fiction covers tend to be varied, in this video we moderately dive into some of the reasons why mostly fiction and even non-fiction book covers are leaning towards this bright, colourful and abstract art.
We go through some of the main elements that are common between the covers and then I attempt to make my own version of all these trends put together.
