If recently you’ve spent any time scrolling through TikTok or Instagram, chances are you must have come across the viral Dubai Paratha Smash Burger. This smash burger is a perfect combination of Middle Eastern flair and American indulgence. Imagine tender, juicy beef patties smashed until crispy on the edges, layered with cheese, and tangy sauces all wrapped inside a flaky, buttery paratha instead of a standard burger bun. It’s messy, comforting, and absolutely outstanding.

Street food in Dubai is more than just snacks it’s an expression of the city’s vibrant cultural melting pot. The smash burger originated in the U.S., where ground beef is pressed against a hot griddle for maximum caramelization and flavor. On the other hand, paratha is a South Asian flatbread loved across Pakistan, India, and beyond for its flaky, buttery layers.

Ingredients:

For paratha:

3 cup wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 tbsp oil
water, for kneading
oil, for frying

For Burger Sauce:

1 cup (200 g) mayonnaise
1/2 cup (80 g) ketchup
1 teaspoon Mustard
1⁄2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tsp white vinegar
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoons garlic powder
1⁄2 teaspoons onion powder
1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1⁄2 cup chopped Jalapeños

For beef smash burger

3 fresh parathas
700 g ground beef or chicken mince (for 6 patties)
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Onion powder
Salt – to taste
1 tsp Black pepper
6 slices of cheddar cheese
1 cup Burger sauce
Butter or oil – for cooking

Instructions:

Parathas:
STEP 1
1: Take 3 cups of flour in a bowl.
Add salt and sugar.
2: Mix well making sure everything is well combined.
3: Add oil and mix now add water and start to knead the dough.
4: Knead to smooth and soft dough adding water as required.
5: Spread some oil, cover it, and rest for 20 minutes.
STEP 2
6: After resting the dough, knead the dough slightly.
7: Apply some oil and roll the dough as thin as possible with hands.
8: Brush oil generously and cut the dough straight with the help of a
pizza cutter.
9: Roll it spiral and tuck it from inside.
10: Now flatten the dough with hands
11: Now cook the Paratha on a hot skillet and flip it over.
12: Fry the paratha, spreading oil on both sides.
13: Cook until the paratha turns golden and crisp.

Burger Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients.
Serve immediately, or refrigerate, covered, for up to 1 week.

Beef smash burger:
○ Heat a pan and cook parathas until golden and crispy. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Patties:
○ Take the mince, add paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
Mix well.
○ Make balls of mince.
○ Heat a non-stick pan, place one mince ball on the pan, and press it down with a
spatula (smash it flat).
○ Cook for 3-4 minutes, flip it, and place a cheese slice on top to melt.
3. Assemble the Burger:
○ Take one paratha cut it from the centre
○ spread Burger sauce
○ Place a double smash patty with melted cheese.
○ Cover it with another sliced part of Paratha.
○ Serve hot.
