In this video, I'm diving into my love for the Samyang VDSLR first-generation cine lenses. Despite testing numerous lenses over the years, these have a special place in my kit. A year ago, I got some anamorfake oval inserts for these lenses from Tito, and after initially trying one or two inserts, I recently decided to fully kit out my set: the 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm first-generation EF lenses, which I'm mounting with an L-Mount Adapter. Yes, I have the Sirui Saturn lenses but I'm not always in the position to squeeze the footage for reels or handle blue flares - so, here's a compromise.

I'm using them on the Ronin 4D 8K, and they look incredible with the new inserts! I'm thrilled to share some quick samples from my garden. These lenses, now considered vintage and discontinued, have an unbeatable look, especially with the character the anamorphake inserts add. Thanks to Tito for breathing new life into one of my favourite lens sets. Enjoy the cinematic goodness!
