Описание к видео Sri Bajreshwari mata templ, in Himachal Pradesh

Significance and mythology
The temple is a sacred Shakti Peeth, a holy site where it is believed a body part of the goddess Sati fell during Lord Shiva's cosmic dance of sorrow (Tandava).
The fallen body part: Legend holds that Sati's left breast fell at this spot.
A form of Durga: The temple is dedicated to Goddess Vajreshwari, a powerful form of the Goddess Durga. The name is derived from Vajra, meaning "thunderbolt," as she is the goddess of the thunderbolt.
Pandava origins: According to local lore, the original temple was built by the Pandava brothers during their exile after Goddess Durga appeared to them in a dream.
History and architecture
The temple has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt over the centuries due to invasions and natural disasters.
Foreign invasions: The temple was famously looted by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1009 AD, who took away immense treasures.
1905 earthquake: The temple was completely destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1905. The current structure was reconstructed in the early 20th century.
Distinctive features: The rebuilt temple features three mausoleums, a unique architectural element. The entrance has a Nagarkhana (drum house) and is fortified by a stone wall, similar to the entrance of a fort.
Deities within: The main deity, Goddess Vajreshwari, is worshipped in the form of a pindi (a sacred stone). The complex also contains a small shrine dedicated to Bhairav.
Special traditions and festivals
Butter festival: A unique tradition is the annual Makar Sankranti festival. During this event, the goddess's pindi is covered with a thick layer of butter, which is believed to have healing powers. According to legend, the goddess used butter to heal her wounds after her battle with the demon Mahishasura.
Navratri: The temple celebrates the Navratri festival twice a year with great fanfare, attracting a large number of pilgrims.
