After restoring Emily, Guilmon & the group encounter Mido, who is responsible for experimenting on Yakumo & his friends, turning Emily into the Successor of the Claw, & reveals that he has sent Eva's relic into a frenzy. Mido leaves, proving too strong to fight in that moment, so the group traverse the Crown of Sand to save Eva & after fighting her as the Successor of the Throat, Guilmon manages to restore Eva but due her transformation being recent, she regains her body which leads to Jack admitting his feelings for her, then Guilmon & the group now with Jack & Eva traverse the Crypt Spire to hunt down Mido, but they fight 2 of his creations & when they catch up to him he reveals the red mist acts as a barrier to protect revenants from the horrors beyond the city & forces Silva to frenzy by sending 3 relics into him only to see Silva's determination is stronger than he original thought, so Guilmon & the others manage to destroy Mido once & for all. But now they must stop Silva before he becomes the new body for The Queen. However Guilmon decides to take on side missions & the depths for the time being. Preparing himself for the final battle to come.
