Quasi-local indie-rock duo Illiterate Light have been one of our favorite emerging artists for some time now. We were so lucky to have them stop by our third floor space to record a couple acoustic versions of a few new songs off their upcoming LP, Sunburned, which will be released this coming Friday via Thirty Tigers.

The new effort retains the rock and melodic sensibilities found throughout 2019's self-titled album, but with a new focus on introspective lyricism and lush production, courtesy of a collaboration between the band recording themselves at Jake Cochran's Old Hickory home here in town as well as at Adrian Olsen's Montrose Recording in Virginia.

Please enjoy this stripped back version of "Automatic," which features the rarity of Cochran (drums, vocals) sitting down while performing as well as Jeff Gorman's (guitar, vocals) treble-heavy and reverb-washed voice.
