Sandeshkhali: Women Retract Rape Complaint, Allege "manipulated to sign on blank paper" |Tamal Saha

In a new twist, at least three women from Sandeshkhali have now lodged complaint with police alleging they have been dragged into fake rape and sexual harassment cases. They claim their concerns were over alleged land grab and non payment of dues and had thus been part of the protest but had never been raped or sexually exploited by now arrested Seikh Shahjahan and his aides. One 55 year old woman alleges that she was manipulated to sign on a blank paper, which was later allegedly made into a complaint of sexual harassment by a local BJP leader. Fresh revelations emerge after the purported sting video came to fore where a local BJP leader is caught allegedly admitting the Sandeshkhali protest was engineered and the rape complaints were manufactured. NTT can not independently verify the authenticity of the purported sting video.
