I researched building a stump grinder at home, and nobody had built anything larger than 15 hp push mower sized machines. This machine is at the top end of performance for grinders that cost $60-$100k to purchase new. Although it uses an old motor, the work output far exceeds the other Wisconsin powered machines on the market. It has a 7-foot sweep reaching all the way from tire to tire on the axle. Grind depth is around 20" and it is able to grind up to 3.5' in the air for high stumps or storm trees that fell over.

Carlton 7015, Carlton 7500, Vermeer 665, Bandit 3100 are other stump grinders in this category. I have run this machine for a year and have produced excellent results in tree service industry with all varieties of wood. The one downside is the heavy weight of the machine. You definitely can't drive this anywhere it has recently rained, because it will sink into the ground and leave big ruts.
