RealSpace 3D is a 3D audio engine made by VisiSonics that can produce 3D headphone surround sound using HRTFs. It also simulates sound reflections off of walls specified by the level designer.

I created this interactive demo environment to show off the excellent 3D audio that RealSpace 3D produces. Most games only produce flat, 2D sound for stereo headphones but a game that uses RealSpace 3D will be able to produce a much more realistic, 3D sensation of sound localization. Notice how it can simulate sound sources from all around you. The difference between in-front and behind, as well as above and below, is quite clear.

This video was captured from an updated version of my demo environment, which now allows the player to change the type of sound that plays and switch between a few different reflection presets. I used version 0.10.6 of RealSpace 3D's Unity engine integration in this demo.
