This is the song "If I loved you" from "Carousel", by Rodgers and Hammerstein. In my estimation, this may be the saddest Broadway show ever... though I am sure someone more knowledgeable has an opinion about that. :-)

Interestingly, this is a unique style of "hypothetical love song" that R&H pioneered. You will find that many of their most famous love songs are not, traditional loves songs declaring their feelings but more introspective songs about what could be, what might have been, and what love would feel like IF they were in love... perhaps now you know something that you didn't before. :-)
