Overclock DDR4 Patriot Viper 4400 & G Skill Trident Z Royal 4800

Описание к видео Overclock DDR4 Patriot Viper 4400 & G Skill Trident Z Royal 4800

DDR4 overclocking Patriot Viper 4400 and G.Skill Trident Z Royal 4800 memory kits. Both memory are single rank, dual channel, and Samsung B-Die. I love both kits and they're fun to mess with on the EVGA Z490 board I have. Learned a great deal about overclocking with this board and happy its so capable with handling memory overclocks. I have a lot more details in my journal.

Both memory are single rank, dual channel, and Samsung B-Die. The price of the Patriot memory is significantly cheaper than the G.Skill memory. The sense is both are highly binned given their respective manufacturers. I’ve had more fun and bang for the buck with the Patriot memory. The Patriot memory seems to be very flexible and is able to produce very good speeds if tuned just right. The G.Skill memory can clearly do everything the Patriot memory could but at less or same voltage. My sense is there may be a difference in PCBs or other components on the memory sticks which give them different properties and overclocking behavior.

Motherboard is EVGA Z490 Dark Kingpin and everything is set to default. Below are the Base settings with no overclock applied, and the XMP settings found on the memory module. Where there is an a before the number means it was auto set by the motherboard auto-tuning. After I find values that work I noted them specifically so I can reproduce results.
