Paul composed this after a visit to St Kilda with the Scottish National Trust Cruise Ship when they managed to land on StKilda . There had been people on StKilda since prehistoric times, they lived on oats, barley cattle ,sheep fish and seabirds StKilda is a major breeding ground for gannets fulmars, puffins, which the islanders used to snare of the cliffs. The StKildans lived in a village on the main island Hirta .The evacuation of the island took place in 1930 The island has a atmosphric and sad feel to it.
