Make no mistake about it, funk can be a little tricky to learn, but once you get used to the interplay of your two hands (kinda like playing the conga only you're using a keyboard) it is a whole heaping helping of fun.

The best part is that funk grooves are used in gospel, country and rock too, reggae, soul, and R & B!

I remember years ago, a country duo called The Kendalls used a clavinet sound in several of their hit songs( "Heaven's Just A Sin Away" for example) and the syncopated sounds were very similar to funk patterns.

In part 1, I cover just the intro, but the good thing is that the intro is the basis for the verse. You are basically alternating between a C9 and an F7 chord.
