আজকে আমরা শুনতে চলেছি বিখ্যাত ব্রিটিশ শিকারি যিনি ভারতে এসে বসবাস করেছিলেন সেই কেনেথ এন্ডারসন এন্ডারসনের শিকার কাহিনী অবলম্বনে লেখা শিকার কাহিনী গুলামপুরের মানুষখেকো চিতা।

কেনেথ এন্ডারসন ছিলেন একজন ব্রিটিশ শিকারী । যিনি ১৯১০ সালে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন । যিনি দক্ষিণ ভারতের বিভিন্ন জঙ্গলে দাপীয় বেড়াতেন। তিনি তার শিকার জীবনে ১০ টি মানুষখেকো চিতা এবং প্রায় ৭টি মানুষখেকো বাঘ হত্যা করেছিলেন ও এছাড়া প্রায় ১৫ থেকে ২০ টি হাতি কেও শিকার করেছিলেন। তিনি একজন শিকারি ছিলেন বটে তবে তিনি তার সাথে সাথে একজন লেখক ছিলেন। তার লেখা বিখ্যাত শিকার কাহিনী গুলি হল মাহিসরের স্লথ ভাল্লুক ,জোওলাগিরির মানুষখেকো ,সেগুরের মানুষখেকো বাঘ, মুন্ডাচিপাল্লামের  মানুষখেকো এবং গুলামপুরের মানুষখেকো চিতা। তিনি মারা যান  ১৯৭৪ সালে ,মাত্র ৬৪ বছর বয়স। 

Kenneth Anderson (1910 - 1974) was a noted British hunter and author. He has been immortalized in the pages of history by hunting many man-eating tigers and leopards for a long time in various forests of South India . Anderson also wrote many books on hunting and adventure based on his long hunting experience in various forests of South India.He risked his life by following the footprints of man-eating tigers or cheetahs and killed many man-eating tigers. Some of his famous hunts include the sloth bear of Mysore , man-cheeked tiger of Jawalagiri , man-cheeked tiger of Segur, man-cheeked tiger of Mundachipallam etc.Anderson officially recorded at least 8 man-eating cheetahs and 7 man-eating tigers. Among the cheetahs were at least 7 cubs and 1 female tiger. And among the tigers 5 were Madda tigers and 2 Madi tigers.

Anderson died of prostate cancer on August 30, 1974. At that time he was 64 years old.

গুলামপুরে এ এক মানুষখেকো চিতার উৎপাতে ওখানকার মানুষের জীবন বিপর্যস্ত হয়ে উঠেছে। এই কথা জানতে পেরে কেনেথ এন্ডারসন , ওই মানুষখেকো চিতা শিকারের উদ্দেশ্যে ওখানে যাত্রা শুরু করেন। ওই চিতাটি প্রায় 40 জনের বেশি মানুষকে মেরেছিল । তিনি চিতাটিকে গুলি করে শিকার করার উদ্দেশ্যে বিভিন্ন ফন্দি করেছিলেন এবং তা বাস্তবায়িত করেছিলেন কিন্তু শিকার অতি চালাক  ছিল। ফলে তার কোন ফন্দিই কাজে লাগেনি। তিনি ওখানকার গ্রামের মানুষদের কাছে জানতে পারেন যে চিতাটির সামনের পায়ের একটি অকেজ ছিল যার ফলস্বরূপ মানুষখেকোতে পরিনত হয়েছিল। পরে অবশ্য শিকার করার পর তিনি জানতে পেরেছিলেন যে ওই পায়েতে শজারুর কাঁটা বেধে যাওয়ার কারণে অকেজ হয়ে ছিল এবং তার সাধারণ শিকার করা ছাড়া আর কোন উপায় ছিল না তাই সে মানুষ মারত। তার এই শিকার করার ক্ষেত্রে একটি কুকুর তাকে কিভাবে সাহায্য করেছিল একটি মাত্র স্যান্ডউইচ ও বিস্কুটের বদলে তা এখানে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। 


In Gulampur, the life of the people has been disrupted due to the appearance of this man-eating cheetah.  Knowing this, Kenneth Anderson, the man-eating cheetah, started a journey there.  That cheetah killed more than 40 people.  He tried and executed various tricks to shoot the cheetah but the prey was too clever.  As a result, none of his tricks worked.  He found out from the villagers that the cheetah had a missing front leg that turned into a man-eater.  Later, however, after hunting, he found out that the leg was immobilized by the thorn of the hare, and he had no choice but to hunt normally, so he killed people.  Here's how a dog helped him in his hunt instead of just a sandwich and a biscuit.
