This is Mighty Final Fight - a NES/ Famicom exclusive spin-off (although it later got released on GameBoy Advance in Capcom Mini-Mix & also on the 3DS eShop). It was released in 1993 & is a super fun take on the series.

Most likely due to the hardware it adopts a "Chibi" or "Super Deformed" style & the whole game has a more light-hearted feel with comical expressions on the faces etc. It does add elements though like pre-boss fight dialogue with choices where taunts etc remove health from the Boss. It also features an experience system which when you reach Level 4 unlocks extra moves such as a Fireball for Cody & a double kick for Guy etc

Unlike it's SNES big brother this features all 3 characters as playable but like that version it is single player only. Its a super fun game though and good looking for a title on this system.

While it came out in 1993 I only discovered about it when I first got online in the late 90's earl 2000's so I snaffled a copy on Ebay back in the day before retro prices rocketed!

I was never a huge NES fan (only getting one after I already had a Megadrive for things like Zelda, Contra/Probotector, Mario & the Castlevania games) although over time I've collected a few lovely games for it. The system was just never the phenomenon in the UK (& Europe) that it was in Japan & the USA. Over here micro computers like the ZX Specturm, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro & Commodore 64 & then the Commodore Amiga were far more popular. As were the Sega machines.

Also the NES & Famicom get way too much coverage on YouTube as a result so other than my Game Axe overview video this is pretty much the first game on the system I've made a video of. Mainly as I'm covering a few of the other games in the series. As I say I love a few of the games & obviously it was a great machine with a brilliant library etc but the NES was way down my list compared to the Sega machines & the SNES etc

This is my original cart played on my Game Axe handheld (see my video!) via Composite Scart (actually fairly decent signal on this system) into a Retrotink 5x purely for ease of capture.

I'm also currently sorting my loft and finding all sorts of obscurities, oddities and nice games from my collection so I'll be doing some random vids. Let me know if there is a console or game you'd like to see. Let me know if there are any games or consoles you'd like videos about. Let me know if you like the format (i.e. no voiceover and the addition of short facts). Want End Cards added to point out other similar videos? I'm just trying things really.

As always if you enjoy this video let me know.

As always this is uploaded under the Fair Use Policy - no money is being made from this video.

Stay strong, stay safe and stay healthy - Grey Fox
