I will present a few consideration points regarding performance on Oracle 19c/ExadataX7 migration from my experience on a recent large enterprise project. The points include optimizer migration, utilizing pending statistics and smart scan, and efficient test with PDB flashback. Regarding optimizer migration, I will explain the process to design optimizer related parameters and some performance issues we encountered. I will also talk about how we utilize pending statistics and reduce operational burden. I will explain Exadata smart scan with its prerequisites and blocking factors and introduce NSMTIO trace to understand direct path read decision. I will present how we design our test environment with backup/recovery and how flashback technology can help improve test efficiency.
