"ai is going to destroy 3d artists"

*UPDATE* Sora was announced right after this video went up; here's my thoughts:

So far, Sora seems like an excellent tool for replacing stock video. I think we must assume that it'll get to the point where it will be able to do 3D render-styled videos of products or other things that I cover on this channel. We don't know when Sora will be available, but it will likely get a lot better very quickly.

Without a doubt, people on a budget will opt for AI-generated work, the same way ChatGPT is being used for copywriting on a budget too. Although just like I said in the video, whatever the masses have access to will quickly become devalued and cheap. If everybody can write the best copy, then nobody can write the best copy. There will always be an option to be one step ahead. This is assuming we don't get to the point where these things are freely thinking and walking around on public sidewalks with us.

Also just to put it out there so I can say I was right (and I'm sure I'm not the first person to guess this), but with the amount of misinformation and deepfakes that are bound to flood the internet soon, it seems almost certain that some new form of "verification" will become mainstream for authenticating videos, whether it's blockchain-related or not. There HAS to be a solution to this because AI generating realistic videos using anybody's likeness (including world leaders and celebrities) poses a major threat to literally everything.

**SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?**

Obviously, this is my opinion; this is speculative. But my personal advice is NOT to panic and immediately delete Blender. Instead, just try to network and get as many clients as possible. There's no way that it could possibly be bad to meet people, gain skills that involve selling services, and practicing communicating articulately. The future is too uncertain to make any drastic moves like quitting 3D in search of something "irreplaceable". With the Tesla robot that can walk, fold clothes, and cook, even in its infancy; it now seems that just about every occupation in existence is threatened by AI to some degree. Don't panic, stay on top of things, and focus on personal growth and enjoying your life.
