`what I tried to cook today is very popular in India and known as kitchri.
kitchri is one of the healthiest breakfast meals that we often serve here on the farm. It is recommended by most experts in ayurvedic medicine ( the science of life) since it has the ability to balance the doshas( three energies that circulate in the body: Vata, kapha and pitta). They not cause gas, so its good for the guts.

kitchri:

1/4 cup Rice
1/2 cup yellow mung dhal

Spices:

1/4 tsp mustard seed
1 cinnamon stick
2 pcs bayleaf
3 pods cloves (if available)
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 thumb sized ginger
1 pinch hing
1/4 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder(optional)
2 medium sized tomatoes (optional)


Other ingredients:

oil
vegetable
coriander leaves (if available)
