So ... Wat is an Antenna Tuner and What does it do for me?
These devices have existed for many, many decades in all sorts of forms.
Once upon a time, they were separate boxes that you had to buy to add to your shack. Now adays they are built into nearly every modern transceiver.
In this video you will discover what they do for us in the context of our overall radio transmitting and receiving system. You will come to appreciate their functionality and their limitations. You will also come to understand that the very term "Antenna Tuner" is a misnomer and why that is the truth.
The functionality of an antenna tuner is heavily grounded in transmission line theory. There are many, many very careful distinctions to pay attentions to to be absolutely precise in the descriptions associated with this theory. In an effort to keep this video on the basic level, I may step on some of these distinctions.
