In this video, Knox Hutchinson covers how to migrate your on-premises SQL databases to Azure. He explains that the process is as easy as using a one-step wizard if you are using SQL Server 2012 or later. He further walks you through this wizard and the other steps that you need to take.

After watching this video, you will know how to migrate your on-premise SQL Server 2012 (or later) databases to Azure. Knox takes you, step-by-step, through this very straight forward process.

First, he goes into the SMS interface and selects a local database that he wants to migrate to the cloud. He does this while describing potential problems that you may face with databases created with SQL Server editions after 2012. Then, he fires up the migration wizard, where you first connect to the database and then set up Azure settings such as the tier and the size of the database. Finally, he shows you the migrated database in the Azure interface.
