For many high school students writing a motivation letter can be a frustrating experience. This is primarily due to the fact that the motivation letter is misunderstood. A good motivation letter is not just a simple document that asks you to list your achievements, but is about much more than that. It is a document which probes at the core of our being and motivates us to actively seek out what it is that we would like to devote our lives to - this in fact is one of the most difficult questions we are faced with as human beings. The motivation letter should therefore be seen as a key step in the process of finding ourselves and therefore learning how to write a good one should be a key skill that high schools promote in their curriculums.
