Ducati Desmosedici Dyno Sweep Test

Описание к видео Ducati Desmosedici Dyno Sweep Test

This is a dyno test of Ducatis Moto GP replica, the only such bike ever offered for sale to the public. Even at $78k USD this is one amazing machine! It features an engine derived from Ducatis 990cc GP bike a V4, which in Ducati speak is called an L4 with 16 desmodromically operated ti valves spinning its crankshaft to a little over 14k rpm. On our famously conservative factory pro dyno it put 153 bhp to the rear tire, making it the strongest 1000cc naturally aspirated engine ever to grace the roller with its fury. The true wet weight of the bike on our own scales is 414 lbs with 1 gallon of fuel in tank. The sound is amazing, harsh but indicative of the monster between your legs and a constant reminder that it will not suffer fools lightly. A special thanks to the owner of the bike for letting me borrow it to evaluate its performance against the new RSV4 Factory Aprilia. He goes by Axecent on most internet forums, thanks again John!

This test is called a sweep test, similar to the more commonly seen tests done on DynoJet and Superflow dynos. This sort of testing is useful for finding holes or spikes in the rev range, areas which can be manipulated by tuning to smooth out the power curve making a monster bike like this easier to ride. I also think these sweep tests have better sound quality since the motor is in a dynamic state, always singing through the rev range.
