In this video, Aaron Louie uses the Staunton Makerspace's laser cutter to etch our logo onto a piece of cardboard. He then punches out the partially-cut cardboard to create a sign for the front door of the makerspace.

The Lasersaur (http://www.lasersaur.com/), an open source laser cutter, is the latest addition to our workshop. It features a 48"x24" bed, a chiller, and a ventilation system. We've been experimenting with all kinds of materials.

Aaron designed the logo for the Staunton Makerspace last year. We wanted to go with a style that was reminiscent of Banksy, the snarky and mysterious graffiti artist who often blends pop culture imagery in humorous ways. For the logo, Aaron grafted the iconic Staunton clock tower onto the body of R2-D2. It perfectly captures the Staunton Makerspace's unique combination of small town charm and geeky DIY tinkering.
