FOOTAGE-Emperor and Empress views Picture Gallery at the Buckingham Palace

The Emperor and Empress of Japan are on State Visit to the UK as guests of the King and Queen. On June25th Emperor and Empress were met by The King and Queen on Horse Guards, before the Emperor was invited to inspect a Guard of Honour formed of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards. The Royal party then travelled back to Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession. In the afternoon, following a private lunch at Buckingham Palace, the Emperor and Empress viewed a special exhibition in the Picture Gallery of items from the Royal Collection relating to Japan. In the afternoon, the Emperor and Empress visited Westminster Abbey, and lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and took a tour of the Abbey, accompanied by the Dean of Westminster.
