After the defeat of the Renegade Daleks during a battle with the Imperial faction, the Doctor convinces the Supreme Dalek to destroy itself as it no longer has a purpose.

The glossy black paint used in this Dalek prop inspired the production team of the New Series to use a similar effect for Dalek Sec. The idea of a Dalek destroying itself is revisited in the very next Dalek story, 'Dalek'.
