China’s artistic swimming team delivered a groundbreaking performance in the Free Routine at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, earning their first-ever Olympic gold medal in the team event. Their routine, titled "Light of Life," combined high-difficulty hybrids, flawless synchronization, and dramatic lifts set to a powerful orchestral soundtrack.
Blending technical excellence with artistic storytelling, the routine featured elements inspired by traditional Chinese culture. The team, coached by Zhang Xiaohuan, scored a total of 996.1389 points, surpassing the United States (914.3421) and Spain (900.7319).
