Ice Lakes, Mount Maude and Seven Fingered Jack - Washington State

The Carne Mountain high traverse loop that we took in this video is magical. Fall colors make this very special high country destination even more spectacular. We started our adventure at the Phelps Creeks trailhead in late September and headed up the Carne Mountain trail. Once reaching the ridgeline we followed a scramblers' route heading northwest to Freezer Pass. From there we went on to explore and camp at Ice Lakes, and then on to Freezer Peak after reaching the summit of Mt Maude. Continuing further northwest we climbed Seven Fingered Jack, another 9000+ feet peak, finally hiking out the Leroy Creek trail and back down Phelps Creek. This is a challenging route filled with stark and beautiful landscapes that you will never forget and cherish the memories for the rest of your life.
