Piano Inspires Artistry: Sophie plays Clementi

Piano student Sophie shares how she is inspired by one of her favorite piano pieces, Sonatina op. 36 no. 4 by Muzio Clementi.

Sophie shared:
"It's been really fun and challenging to work on a whole sonatina with three very different movements. The first movement has a kind of a sweeping lyrical melody, but a rhythmic left hand underneath that anchors it and keeps it from floating away. The second movement is slow, quiet, and almost hymn-like. It's restful but elegant. And then comes the third movement, which couldn't be more different. It's a mad dash - we're off to the races, fast and fun from start to finish. No time to breathe!"
