Automower Charging Station Components, Disassembly, & Other Info (300, 400, & 500 Series)

In this video we disassemble a charging station for a Husqvarna Automower to show you some of the important components of the charging station and where they are located. A lot of people know that there is a circuit board in the charging station that can be removed, but they do not realize that there are several other crucial parts of the Automower's charging station that can cause performance issues for the mower and that these parts are easily replaceable. One key component that many people neglect is the antenna wire on the bottom of the charging station docking plate. As we show you in this video, that antenna wire is completely open and visible on the charging station for 300 series mowers, but is covered by a protective plate on the 400 and 500 series Automower. Kneeling, standing, or running equipment over the charging station docking plate can easily damage this antenna wire which will cause the mower to have issues docking properly. Another area that goes unnoticed to many people is where the charging contacts are located in the top of the tower. These contacts can look fine from the outside, but may become corroded or oxidized over time by the weather and cause charging issues. Charging issues could also be caused by a loose wire connection to one of the contacts. And of course the best reason to know where these components are located and how to get to them is to keep the charging station clean and free of insects and other small creatures that can cause damage to the circuit board or wiring in the charging station.
