Secure Your Chicken Coop from Predators: How to Make a Quick & Affordable Apron Fence

Описание к видео Secure Your Chicken Coop from Predators: How to Make a Quick & Affordable Apron Fence

My chickens are ready to go in the coop, but I also need to make sure the coop is secure from predators, like raccoons, foxes, and rodents.

To do this, I first used a mattock and shovel to dig a ditch about a foot down and a 1-2 feet out.

Then I cut chicken wire about 25 inches long and attached with a stapler to the wooden part of the coop. The at the bottom, lay some bricks or rocks to weight the coop down and create an extra barrier from critters.

Make sure the wire then extends along the bottom of the ditch. Digging critters will usually try to start a hole close to the coop, so if they were to dig down the animal would get stuck at the bricks.

Finally, cover with the dirt and make sure no exposed chicken wire is popping up for safety.
