Chess Prodigy Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus becomes Youngest 2600 Player Ever

On August 18, 2024, Turkish chess prodigy Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus became the youngest chess player ever to break the FIDE Classical rating of 2600 (in live ratings) at the age of 13 years, 2 months, and 15 days. He smashed the previous mark held by American John Michael Burke by a YEAR! He accomplished this remarkable feat at the 30th Abu Dhabi Chess Festival. Featured is a brief, dynamic, and instructive game by the Turkish star from early August at the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Team Championships 2024.
