Wave Rally - PS2 (2001)

From developer Opus. The same company that delivered the dreadful Surfing H3O to Rockstar as a NA launch title, have they learned their lesson? As a racer it's doable, but you have to be careful which character you pick, the first one had dreadful controls, and even with a normal character sometimes you just couldn't turn at all, and this gets frustrating with the frequent penalizations and slowdowns. This may be something where physical accuracy to jet-ski handling makes it less fun, but Jet Moto on the PS1 had it executed better as far as ease of use goes. It's a visually stunning game, with beautifully rendered water and jet-skis, and vivid tropical backdrops, the work of the artists involved really shines.
