Certain viral infections can arise post-transplant, such as: cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein-Barr (EBV), and BK and can be incredibly challenging and scary for recipients and their caregivers. This session will share reason for hope as new interventions are becoming available to eliminate these complications. These interventions include antiviral medications and immunotherapies that specifically target these viruses. In addition, preventive strategies like viral monitoring and preemptive treatment can help reduce the risk of infection. With the right strategies and interventions in place, we can work towards eliminating these post-transplant complications and improving outcomes for our patients.
