Bechstein 220cm grand c1893. A part-exchange piano with problems - incorrect levers fitted:

The model IV Bechstein is one of the finest grand pianos ever made; this one is generally well-restored except for the action, making the touch far too heavy.

The client bought this piano from an auction and complained about the extremely heavy and uneven action. The action parts used by the restorer were incorrect; we tried to improve it without replacing the action but with partial success. We have done about a week's work We've replaced the una corda spring which was fiercely strong.

The client has now bought a fully restored Bechstein 220cm from us.

We decided to send this piano back to auction.
