Описание к видео This Tragedy of Mine (a Technoblade Dream SMP song)

This song originally came out with the premier of my new album "babel has fallen". But I hope you guys enjoy having this song as a single on YouTube!

"This Tragedy of Mine" is a song about Technoblade's character on the Dream SMP in the wake of c!Ranboo's death after the prison escape in November 2021. The song was originally written in March 2022, but wasn't released until October with the release of the completed album.

Lyrics:
Hektor lost his family before his own demise
Within his own creation, Daedalus lived and died
Icarus with waxen wings somehow learned to glide
And Orpheus left Eurydice without a fond goodbye
The hero of this story was who you were meant to be
And I the wizened mentor, my death your tragedy
But these twisted myths cried warnings that this old fool failed to see
And now, too late, I see this fate bleeding before me

Is this my limbo?
To be torn apart?
Not by crows or eagles,
But still losing my heart?
The dealings of the mortals
Were not made for these eyes
But now you lay before me,
This tragedy of mine
Oh
Oh
Oh

Thanatos escaped his chains, refused the mortals’ call
And Theseus found forgiveness: in their eyes it’s not his fault
Tortured Agamemnon thus proclaimed himself a god
And Phrixus saw his savior seeking someone called a fraud
I’m still Prometheus, I thought I broke the chains
But I can’t ignore, not anymore, this all consuming pain
With a thousand-fold threat, I always follow through
I’ll bring fires of vengeance, long overdue

Is this my limbo?
To be torn apart?
Not by crows or eagles,
But still losing my heart?
The dealings of the mortals
Were not made for these eyes
But now you lay before me,
This tragedy of mine
Oh
Oh
Oh

Gods of death and bloodshed have always been my kind
So forgive if I forget how fragile mortals are sometimes
I forgot that if I cared too much, then I’d be rendered blind
Titans never die, that’s not the fate of mortal-kind
Goddess, did you welcome him with arms open wide?
Did you bring him needed rest or leave him haunted and deprived?
Oh Death, where is your sting? Isn’t the mentor supposed to die?
Now only the chorus sings this tragedy of mine

Is this my limbo?
To be torn apart?
Not by crows or eagles,
But still losing my heart.
The dealings of the mortals
Were not made for these eyes.
But now you lay before me,
This tragedy of mine

My hounds at the ready, they pulled at the leash
I tried to bring fire and do what I preach
Did I fall in love with shadow?
Did I lose the flame it's from?
Is all fair in love and war?
I gave you a home, but they took you away!
This tragedy of mine
Oh
Oh
Oh

Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
But to Your name give glory
Because of Your loving kindness, because of Your truth.
- Psalms 115:1
