The Committee on Tribal Unity, Kangpokpi celebrates the 77th India's Independence Day with Kuki Volunteers along with a few stake holders at the periphery area of the district.

The KUKI-ZOs, despite the false allegation and accusation of being illegal immigrants by Hon'ble Home Minister Amit Shah in line with the state government, yet knowing that the KUKI-Zos have truly fought against the British during 1917-1919 and also as Indian National Army led by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in 1946 that gives a true affidavit that we are true Indians, we do have no choice but to rejoice together with our fellow Indians on this glorious day and remember our forefathers who were true warriors for our country India.

Yet, very unfortunately, the celebration could not be done under the District Administration of the state as we have already been kicked out and been separated by the state government.
