Ahsa was a member of the same species as the Hive Worm Gods before their corruption and twisting by the Witness’ dark will. She has remained beneath the menthane ocean waves on Titan, where she would eventually form a psychological connection with Sloane, now being half taken by Xivu Arath. Ahsa speaks through Sloane, slowing piecing together the origins of the Witness in order to educate us of its roots before we face it in The Final Shape. Ahsa informs us of how Savathun, The Witch Queen must rise again in order to help us follow the Witness through the portal on the Traveler, by discovering the Last Wish and reviving Riven of a thousand Voices, the Last Ahamkara in spirit form.
