Michelle Antony bravely challenges the idea that women’s clothing, actions, sobriety, and speech make them more likely to be hyper-sexualized, objectified, or sexually abused. She argues that society’s view on women’s behaviors reflect a cultural phenomenon often called “rape culture,” and that victim-blaming is unjust, shaming, and adds to the problem of sexual harrassment, abuse, and assault. Michelle is a sophomore at LTHS; she is a Lake Travis High School Student Council representative and participates in the Speech & Debate, HOSA, and DECA clubs. Michelle rows for Texas Rowing Center outside of school and enjoys spending her time with friends and family. Michelle is extremely passionate about educating others on meaningful topics, and she's excited to be here today.
