We had this Toyota Cresta GX100 imported into the United States and while I had it I wanted to enjoy every second I possibly could! The very first weekend there was a cars and coffee event I really enjoy going too that takes place on Sunday evenings. Well I had only driven the car around my local area and only during the day... You see where this is going...

The meet is about 40 minutes from my house and I had a 25 year old vehicle that I was still fairly unfamiliar with (what could go wrong). It was a absolutely BEAUTIFUL Sunday afternoon and the drive to the cars and coffee was amazing! The meet was the biggest it had ever been and I decided to stay longer than I had planned. I had initially planned on only staying an hour which would of meant I would of driven home in the daylight and dusk hours. Well I didn't and I was able to take advantage of using my AAA membership! Super awesome right?! After I left the meet I started driving with no issues presenting themselves. Drove through a low speed area and the car didn't have any issues. BUT only a few miles down the highway the car started acting up just after I passed an exit insert big eyeroll the lights started to get dim and warning lights started to appear one by one and I knew EXACTLY what was happening and pulled onto the shoulder as the car started to loose power.

When I got home I let Yoshi know and he found the original part and part number. That part was a few hundred dollars and had a few week estimated time of arrival. So I took that part number and figured out the part interchange number and cross referenced parts here in the states. To my surprise the part it interchanged with and was super common! Every Advance Auto Parts in my entire area was showing them in stock and costed less than $200!
